Under the blanket, the soft rustle of pages and a single beam of flashlight cut through the darkness. At nine years old, I discovered my first secret adventure tucked within the pages of a Famous Five novel. The book transported me to imagined lands, sparking a lifelong passion for stories.
Hello there! I’m Vandita, the blogger and founder of TLO. While I tend to be introverted, I enjoy connecting with those I trust. Books have always offered me an adventure, and I truly love everything about them! While the Famous Five and others captivated me, I became a reader without realising it when I picked up Indian children's magazines like Tinkle, Champak, and Amar Chitra Katha.
I am from India, a country rich in history and culture, where stories and art have always influenced me. I have very fond memories of sitting on the balcony and talking with my maternal grandfather when the air was filled with the gentle scent of sandalwood incense my mother would light. His rhythmic, resonant voice would paint vivid pictures of Indian epics and classics, my heritage, shaping my appreciation for literature and life altogether. In those moments, I understood that stories are a bridge across time, connecting us to our roots and to each other, making them as relevant today as they were in the past. My parents, especially my mother, encouraged my love of reading from an early age. In addition to reading, I enjoy singing, writing, and occasionally painting. As I share my journey with you, I invite you to reflect on your own.
I earned a master’s in history while pursuing my love for the subject. My interest in culture and literature inspired me to create this blog. I currently live in Hyderabad with my wonderful husband and family.
